Caught! 2012 BMW 7 Series Facelift Out in the Wild
Have caught a pre-production vehicle out testing.The 7’s updates look to be very minor and restricted to the head- and taillights, along with the front and rear bumpers. New LED corona rings around the headlights, along with xenon lights for both the regular headlights and brights, and an LED strip (similar to that on the 2012 1 Series coupe and convertible ) make for a simple and clean update for the front lights.
The creases just below the lights will also open up more, pointing toward the bottom of the twin-kidney grilles. Expect to see a slightly more upturned front ductwork (almost identical to the current 5 Series ), and for the 7 to lose its horizontal chrome “moustache” that runs above and between the fog lights.
Out back, little seems to have changed from the current 7 Series. Our guess is that the rear valence will get a modest nip here and tuck there, and perhaps a new pair of exhaust tips.
