SERVE-A-THON Join more than 6,000 volunteers at the 18th annual Chicago Cares Serve-a-Thon, a day of service to revitalize Chicago Public Schools to be held Saturday, June 11, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Volunteers donate $30 each, which includes participation at area schools and a post-event celebration with live music and free food and beverages. Volunteers will meet at Soldier Field on the Stadium Green, check in, and then board school buses to travel to and from projects across the city, where they will help paint classrooms, organize libraries, create murals and mosaics, improve playgrounds, and landscape.
