New Projects

Groundwork · Begin launch a project to raise funds for four years to $ 10 million Sports Arena / gym for volleyball, basketball and Greek events.

Rededication · in October of the Center for Civic Engagement for Michael and Libby Johnson Center for Civic Engagement. The Johnsons are the donors, is a former trustee and is a daughter of the late Richard V. Moore, the third president of the university.

· Opening of the Centre for nearly 5 million Larry R. Handfield Athletic Training in November near the Homecoming.

• Second master of science degree program opens this fall called Integrated Environmental Science.

· The University this year became the third Historically Black College and University to become a site of national editorial projects focusing on helping K-12 teachers and university teachers to improve students' skills writing and how writing is taught.

· The School of Arts and Letters has opened a detention center and information this fall to help students and new journalism lab with new computers and equipment.

· Construction of a robotic / remote detection system in the School of Science, engineering and mathematics to art and new robots used for teaching and research.

· Study the possibility of an Honors College at the university.

· Launch a program of bridge was to provide assistance in mathematics and English for freshmen who will enter the fall of 2012.

Exploration · a campus Bethune-Cookman University satellite in the Bahamas or to offer a few courses in partnership with the Bahamas Conference of Methodist.

· Launch of inaugural summit for black women like the top of black men, who enters his second year in February.

· Increase emphasis on the spiritual awakenings with inviting ministers of various denominations.

• Work with FAMU and the University of Florida to establish an institute to train community health workers in the counties of Volusia, Alachua and Gadsden.

The.Life: IDEAL APARTMENT :)

Class of 2012 is coming up ready to start the college life. For the first year of course ill be staying in a dorm but I don’t plan on being there for ever. I was looking on Vacany.com and happen to find a nice little place with 2bdrm 2bthrm in Florida, which is 10 mins away from FAMU (my school choice). This apartment is good to start off and if you live with someone else you can split the cost. $499 divided in half make life a little easy right. If I lived in Tallahassee I would definitely look into buying this apartment for me and a friend to share.
