Rockville, MD (PRWEB) January 18, 2011

CME Outfitters, LLC, (CMEO) an award-winning accredited provider of multidisciplinary continuing education (CE), in co-sponsorship with USF Health, is pleased to announce an upcoming interactive, evidence-based neuroscienceCME Live and On Demand continuing education activity titled “It’s Relative: Patient-Reported Outcomes in Multiple Sclerosis – Aligning Physician and Patient Perspectives to Optimize Care.”

Offered as a simultaneous satellite broadcast, webcast, and telephone audioconference premiering Wednesday, March 2, 2011, from 12:00 p.m.-1:00 p.m. ET, the activity seeks to educate clinicians on current evidence concerning the utility of patient-reported outcomes (PRO) tools and their application to clinical practice in multiple sclerosis care, the value of PRO in designing and refining an individualized course of treatment, and integrating data garnered from such measures to both improve medical care and increase patient satisfaction with the quality of their care and their quality of life with multiple sclerosis. This activity also includes a special “After the Show” segment from 1:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m. ET during which the faculty answers additional audience questions in an informal Q&A session. The recorded webcast will re-air from 4:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. ET. This CE activity will also be available on demand as a webcast, podcast, and telephone audioconference shortly after the broadcast premiere.

There is no fee to participate or receive CE credit for this activity; however, registration is required. Three forms of registration are accepted: With increased focus on individualized treatment in multiple sclerosis, the importance of PRO is evident. While PRO assessments are not replacements for professionally moderated questionnaires and more formal measurements (e.g., the EDSS or MRI imaging), they can serve as an invaluable resource that fosters stronger physician-patient relationships, encourages patients to increase ownership in managing their disease, and addresses patient concerns directly. However, clinicians do not consistently use PRO tools, and questions about their utility remain.

In this neuroscienceCME Live and On Demand activity, expert faculty will review current evidence concerning the usefulness and implementation of PRO tools in clinical practice and discuss the value of integrating PRO data to refine individual treatment and increase patient satisfaction with the quality of both their care and their lives.
